Greetings, fellow academics!

I’m almost Dr. Olivia Brownstone. More than being the daughter of astronaut Susan Beth Handler, I am a candidate for an anthropology doctoral degree. I found a box of audio cassette tapes in my mother’s attic while cleaning out her house. These recordings labeled “Neon Clubhouse” feature my mother and her friends talking about life in the 1980s. Part nostalgia, part coming-of-age, their conversations inform my research, and I’m sharing them with the world as part of my thesis.
